Montezuma Castle near the Verde and Beaver rivers in central Arizona is an old ruin built by Sinagua farmers about 1100 years ago. The buildings had been abandoned and were in ruins when the Spanish were searching for the Seven Cities of Gold. The buildings are high in a cliff beside Beaver Creek
The squirrel stopped for a photo op.
Looking up the cliff there are many birds nests.
Sylvia and Glenn found someone to take our picture.
Two red tailed hawks put on a soaring show.
Beaver Creek, close by and needed for farming. The Well drains into this creek.
The well produces about one and one half million gallons each day.
The ruins are in the wall of the well.
Sylvia resting at the well.
Resting in the shade.
