Norfolk Botanical Garden

The gardens are near the airport. The Rose Garden is large.

We gardens have a tram and knowledgeable guide. The tour is about 1/2 hour long and stops many times. Glenn does not know the names of the flowers. Just enjoy the color.

The weekend

Saturday was the dinner at Davis Lakes Campground. Sylvia made a yellow cake with Chocolate frosting. The Beef was supplied and cooked by Davis Lakes. We had to bring a side dish and an appetite. The band is "Over Due".
From Fly-in Suffolk

The crowd was large.
From Fly-in Suffolk

The campground is at capacity. New friends and neighbors.
We drove to Wendy's to visit with Billy and her. Wendy lives in the township of Franklin out in the farmland. We visited, watched the Hummingbirds, and watched the children play in the pool..
We received a call, Aunt Doris was taken to the hospital with chest pains. We drove to the hospital, in Suffolk, and met the remainder of her family there. They stabilized Aunt Doris and were trying to evaluate the problem. The hospital wanted to admit her for observation. Aunt Doris signed herself out and went home at midnight.
This morning we attended church. After church we attended the "Fly-in" at Suffolk Air Port. When we arrived the show was packing up. The weather had changed and the showers had started. Glenn did get a few pictures.

Changes

Wednesday Sylvia had another blood draw. This is a followup to the Blood Transfusion of Friday. There is a problem. The decision was made to have Sylvia undergo a "Small Bowel Capsule Endoscopy". This will be performed on Wednesday May 26 at Maryview Hospital in Chesapeake, VA. The procedure is trying to locate the apparent Blood loss. The trip North to Chicopee, MA has again been delayed.

Last evening we visited with Aunt Doris, Jimmy and Emilee, and Tom and TJ. We had a great time. We returned to the RV about 10 pm.

Friday-Blood Transfusion

Wednesday Sylvia had a blood draw before we had dinner at Cecil and Emilee's. Thursday about 4:15 the Doctor called and said we were to go to Maryview Hospital in Portsmouth, Va to be matched and cross referenced for a Blood Transfusion on Friday. We arrived there about5 pm. The Order was not at the lab. The other areas were closing , the lab will not work without a written order. We returned to the RV.

Friday morning we are up at 6 am. Fed and walked the dogs, ate breakfast, and left the RV about 7:15. We arrived at the Infusion center and the Blood matching was drawn and processed. About 10:am we were notified that there was a problem, Sylvia's blood has "antibodies" and will have to wait for the special blood. Because the "IV" has been installed, Sylvia will have to be admitted "in house". We are moved to a room by 11am. The Nurse began the paperwork for the Transfusion. The first unit arrived at 12:15. Lunch arrived at 1 pm. 3:30 the first unit was completed and the 2nd unit started. We watched the tv and relaxed. Dinner was served at5:30. 6:30 the second unit was installed, The Nurse had all the paperwork completed and Sylvia was released.
We returned to Suffolk. Glenn dropped off Sylvia at Dick & Virginia's house, Aunt Doris is having a Birthday party here.
