Thanksgiving at Lisa's

The car was repaired and we left El Dorado, AR. The next stop is to visit my Niece Teena and Henry. They live near Dallas, a town named Quinlan, TX. Our campsite on the lake.

Teena and Henry stopped to see us. We had dinner and a great visit. We left early Wednesday, we had 400 miles to reach Lubbock. The trip was uneventful, just the way we like to travel.
Thursday morning, Thanksgiving, We drove to Lisa's. Our Great Grand Daughter.
She may be thinking "Who is this?"
From Drop Box
Lisa had prepared a great meal in spite of the fact that she had to work her 2nd job, a baby store.

This is also the way I felt after all that food.

Friday we stayed home and did not enter the shopping frenzy. Saturday was very windy, winds to 60 mph, kept us rocking.
Sunday afternoon we prepared the meal at Lisa's as she again had to work till 3 pm.
After dinner we chatted and Lisa set up the Christmas Tree. Aniyah was playing on the rug. That's why they are called "Rug Rats"??

That about brings us up to date. Till Later..

Car Trouble in Arkansas,

With the Motor home repaired, we drove South by way of the "Natches Trace" to Arkansas. We stopped in "Lake Village" for the night. We stayed in "The Pecan Grove" campground. The Car refused to start. Jumper cables were no help. Glenn asked the Park owner where a ford dealer was located. The closest one was about 50 miles away.We decided to tow the car to El Dorado, AR as that would be in the direction we were headed. Monday morning Glenn towed the car to the dealer here in El Dorado, AR.
The car will not shift into park to start. Ford ok-ed opening the transmission. The transmission was gone. Parts will be here on Tuesday. Wednesday, they called and we picked up the car. Car refused to start at Ford. Returned to the RV. Thursday they call "car is ready". Car started. drove to lunch, car ok. Drove to Wal-mart, Car will not start in Park. Starts in neutral, will not back up. Returned the car to Ford. The shift selector in the transmission has issues. Parts are on order and could be here by Monday around Noon.
The campground is "Gator Den". We have a pond with a Blue hearing.

With all that excitement we also visited the local sites here in southern Arkansas. El Dorado is the first "Boom Town" in Arkansas. Oil was discovered in 1920. The park downtown.
From Drop Box
Friday we drove to Camden, AR to see a Museum, an old house.
From Drop Box
All furnishings were original to the house. 1845.

Sunday we visited a museum in El Dorado. Another old house but refurbished furnishings.
From Drop Box
Every thing had been refinished, looks great but the older home looked more realistic.
