Saturday 8-7

This morning we were up at 6:30. Glenn exercised on the WII. Weather is cool, 58 deg at 7 am.
Glenn joined Colinda at 7:45 and we drove to Pete's( My brother-in-law and Cloinda's Dad. We prepared the wagon and tractor, loaded the tools and entered the woods.
Colinda and Glenn sat on the rear of the wagon riding into the woods. The dump lever came unhooked going over a bump. Colinda and Glenn were on our rumps on the ground. We then realized that we had sat to far behind the wheels. No- we did not have a camera.
We reached the wood cutting area, Pete started cutting down a tree, Colinda started the tractor to turn the wagon around. The Clutch would not engage. Investigation revealed that the main clutch spring had broken. We are now about 1 mile into the woods. With the tools we have, the covers removed, we discover that the tractor can be "Jury Rigged" so that we can ride back to the house. The "Jury Rig" involved tearing a handkerchief into strips to make a sling. The thing worked.
We returned to the house, drove to the auto parts store and purchased a spring. The parts store did not have the exact spring, we had to improvise. A proper connection was made using a "Cold Shut". This is a chain link normally used to repair chains.
With the morning shot, we had lunch.
This afternoon we returned to the woods. This time Colinda and Glenn sat in front of the wagon rear wheels. The wood cutting went off without a hitch, we had the wagon loaded and returned to the house by 2:30.

I wish I could have been there; haven't seen a good Abbott and Costello show in a long time.
