Michie Tavern

Satuyday we visited "Michie Tavern" near Charolttesville, VA. Established in 1784 as a social center of the community and to accommodate travelers with food, drink, and lodging.

The tavern today recreates 18th century life. We just had to try on the hats.

The tavern offers a "Hearty Midday Fare" of chicken,or pulled pork.

This was followed with peach Cobbler. We also toured the inn. The rooms were very crudely furnished.
