With the Motor home repaired, we drove South by way of the "Natches Trace" to Arkansas. We stopped in "Lake Village" for the night. We stayed in "The Pecan Grove" campground. The Car refused to start. Jumper cables were no help. Glenn asked the Park owner where a ford dealer was located. The closest one was about 50 miles away.We decided to tow the car to El Dorado, AR as that would be in the direction we were headed. Monday morning Glenn towed the car to the dealer here in El Dorado, AR.
The car will not shift into park to start. Ford ok-ed opening the transmission. The transmission was gone. Parts will be here on Tuesday. Wednesday, they called and we picked up the car. Car refused to start at Ford. Returned to the RV. Thursday they call "car is ready". Car started. drove to lunch, car ok. Drove to Wal-mart, Car will not start in Park. Starts in neutral, will not back up. Returned the car to Ford. The shift selector in the transmission has issues. Parts are on order and could be here by Monday around Noon.
The campground is "Gator Den". We have a pond with a Blue hearing.
With all that excitement we also visited the local sites here in southern Arkansas. El Dorado is the first "Boom Town" in Arkansas. Oil was discovered in 1920. The park downtown.
Friday we drove to Camden, AR to see a Museum, an old house.
All furnishings were original to the house. 1845.
Sunday we visited a museum in El Dorado. Another old house but refurbished furnishings.
Every thing had been refinished, looks great but the older home looked more realistic.
Tomorrow we wait for the call that the car is ready.
