Suwannee River State Park

Today was travel. We cleaned, packed, and moved out of Eastbbank Campground. By 8:30 we were on the road. The change in time zones added 1 hour as we drove East
We are now in Suwannee River State Park. This park is on the river and has many hiking trails. After a hike, Sylvia noticed that her house keys were missing. We retraced hike, but no keys.We returned home and checked all the other possibility's. We told the ranger station about the lost keys. They said they would be on the lookout for them. Well you know the probability of that. Well about 2 hours later a knock on our door, The Ranger had our keys. Thank God for small favors.
The campsites are smaller here than the Corps of Engineers campgrounds, but we have a sewer connection, and the sight fees are 15.00 per day.

Lake Seminole Campground, Ga 11-20-08

We got up this morning to a beautiful sunshine day. Today we cleaned the windshield and the outside of the Motor home. We drove into Chattahoochee, Fl to do the laundry but could not locate one. We drove to Snead, Fl. to wash.
This afternoon this crane came to our campsite. It seemed to be feeding.This evening we had another pretty sunset and later a fire.
Tomorrow Friday we leave here and go to "The Suwannee River State Park". We will be there until Monday.

Lake Seminole Campground, Ga

Wednesday,we got up early, for us, had breakfast and cleaned up and packed up to move. We are out of the site by 10 am. We stopped for fuel then headed for Rt 10. We stopped at Exit 97 for a rest stop. This rest stop has concrete tables with roofs in a wooded site. Very nice for a rest stop. The remainder of the trip was uneventful, just the way we like it.
We arrived in Eastbank Campground at Seminole Lake, Ga. at 4:15. We are in site 28. The site is spacious at the edge of the Lake. The pads are Concrete and level. We will be here two nights.

Tuesday 11-18-08

Tomorrow is moving day. Today was shopping and clean the outside. The clothes line has been disassembled and stored, and the acorns have been removed from the slideout awnings.
This evening our friends Jim and Ellie hosted a gathering with us and our friends Mark and Dortha. We each provided a dish. The net result was one fantastic dinner. Mark and Dortha are moving out on Thursday. At this moment Jim and Ellie's plans are uncertain. Tonight is our going away party. Thank you Jim, Ellie, Mark, and Dortha. You will be missed. We do plan to see you in Texas next year, like Janurury.
The temperatures here are low. Tonight's forcast temperature is 30. I have disconnected the water hose. Wont have to deal with a frozen hose in the morning. We expect to be on the road after 10 am. We will drive about 160 miles to the South East corner of Georga.

Blue Angles homecoming Pensacola,Fl

Friday Nov. 14. Today after breakfast and walking the dogs, I restrung the day night shade in the hall. Think that this completes the day night shade rehab. Jim and Mark stopped by and asked about attending the Blue Angle Show.
Today is homecoming for the Blue Angles in Pensacola, Fl. We decided to attend today verses tomorrow because of weather. The 6 of us left for Pensacola. We stopped in Foley, Al to have lunch at "The Oar House". The food was good and the price rich. We arrived at the Naval Air Station about 1 pm. Security was normal for the air show. The planes and pilots gave a wonderful show. We left the air show about 3:30 and came home by way of Orange Beach, Al

11-12-08

Yesterday 11-11 was Veterans day and my Grandson's birthday. Thanks to all the veterans, we could not live like this without you. Happy Birthday Joshua, 20 is such a good year.
We had the oil changed in the car and had the car cleaned, both inside and out. We spent the remainder of the day relaxing at home.
Two couples we meet in Red Bay, Al. arrived here today in Rainbow Plantation. Ellie and Jim; Mark and Dortha are now setup in camp. Sure is good to visit with friends again.
Wednesday we got up late, again. We drove to Walmart to pick up prescriptions, walked the dogs around the park and visited with campers outside. Another laid back day.
I did setup reservations for next week as we are traveling to Jacksonville, Fl. to have Thanksgiving Dinner with out son and his family. We leave here Wednesday to travel to Seminole Lake in Georgia for two nights, then on to the Suwanee River in Florida for the weekend. Monday we will be at the Atlantic Ocean just north of Jacksonville, Fl. Sure hope the good weather holds.

Sunday 10-09-08

Saturday we attended the"Foley Harbor Days" fair on the common in Foley. There were demonstrations about early life in this area, including Indian enactments performed by children in authentic native dress. There were the usual old farm tractors and equipment, train museum, and a live blue grass band.
Saturday evening we went out to dinner with our neighbors Paul & June. They will be leaving in the morning to visit their children in Tampa, Fl. We ate at "Big Daddy's Fish Camp". We returned to the RV and they joined us here for a game of "Mexican Train" dominoes.
Sunday we are up at 7:30, early for us. After breakfast there were hugs etc. as Paul & June were all hitched up and ready to leave. We will miss them. Today we toured the coast west of here. We followed the coast south and east till we arrived at Weeks Bay. They have an estuary with elevated walkways and a visitor center. We had a bag lunch at the picnic tables and walked the elevated walkway. They are about 2 miles long leading out to the edge of the bay. This was a very interesting walk and we saw birds close-up.
This evening after dinner we attended the "Ice Cream Social" in the club house. The band"Lock Stock and Barrell" performed "Blue Grass". The band is great and will be back every other Sunday this winter.
