Amana, Iowa

This morning we left Howe, Indiana and drove to Amana, Iowa. We were out of the campground by 9:30. We wanted to be around Chicago before the traffic became heavy. The quarry just off I-80.

We are camped in "The Amana Colonies" in Amana Iowa. These were a commune around the 1900's. At one time they owned 26,000 acres.

You're up where I use to live. Just south of Howe. Great campground, no worries about trees to get to the internet. Thanks for the post reminding me of the praries.
