Cherry Blossums

April 14, we are up at 4:30am....Why?? We are going with our Son Scott and his Wife Jamie to attend the "Cherry Blossums" in Washington. DC. We drove to the "Metro" and rode the train into the city.

The train station is on the "Mall" and the Monument is close by. The parade is on "Constitution Ave".

We saw many of these bands and dancers when we were in Japan in 2006. Pretty southern dresses, and Girls.

Blue Ridge Parkway.

Tuesday we drove South from I-64 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. This scenic drive is along the Eastern side of the Shenandoah Valley.

Clifton Forge and Covington, VA area.

Tuesday we tour the area. We drove to Covington, VA to see Falling Springs Falls.

The falls were taller. A mining company worked the area and removed lots of materual.

Our next stop was the train depot in Covington.

Just West  of Covington there is a covered bridge. The "Humpback Bridge".

We returned to Clifton Forge to see the "Douthat State Park" with it's dam, lake, and campgrounds.
